Operations and Administration

The flow of Administration of this Local Government starts from the Chairman/Caretaker Chairman to the Head of Local Government Administration through the Director of Administration & Generals Services to the Entire Staffs’

Office of the Chairman

The Chief Security and accounting officer of the Local Council Development Area is the Chairman. The Coordination and initiation of several programmes rests on the oars of the Chairman as the head of the management team. He is responsible for championing visions, sets goals and the objectives for the Local Council Development Area. Aside from being the head of the management team, he takes final decision on key issues pertaining to the progress of the Local Council Development Area and ensures vital decision are carried out as spelt out within stipulated time. He also complement the efforts of the State Government by ensuring implementation of State Government policies at the grassroots. All these are carried out with collaboration with Eight Departmental heads as approved by Government, namely:

Administration and General Services:

The department is pivotal to the running of any effective organization. The department is central to growth, viability coordination and growth of the Local Council Development Area. Therefore, it remain a critical determinant putting the establishment on right lane.

Beyond this, the coordination and control of the Personnel of this Local Council Development Area firmly falls within the department vis-à-vis the implementation of the laudable programmes of the Government. The welfare and discipline of the personnel coupled with day to day running of the Local Council Development Area are within the purview of the Administration and General Services department.

Akin to this, the department facilitates the coordination of various Committees of the Local Council Development Area namely, Finance and General Purposes Committee, Peace and Security Committee, Traditional Council of Obas and Chiefs, Junior Staff and Management Committee, Committee on Health Matters, Agric. programmes, Education Matters, the Legislative house of the Local Council Development Area matters to mention but a few.

Finance and Supplies Department:

The department is saddled with the responsibility of collection of revenue, motor parks, markets, rates and taxes among others. Generation and increase of internally generated revenue is a major goal of the department. Facilitation of series of meeting with Finance Stakeholders such as NURTW, Trade Unions, Market men and women, Political and Religious Organizations, Youths and other citizenry with a view to cooperate with the Local Council Officials on collection and prompt payment of their dues, tariffs, licence and other fees to the coffers of the Local Council Development Area.

More importantly, it is also responsible for facilitating all payment on behalf of the Local Council Development Area. It is only authorized department to receive and authorize any payment whatsoever.


EDUCATION AND SOCIAL SERVICES DEPARTMENT:
This is a core sector that has attracted the attention of Local Council Development Area. Saddled with the mandate to arrest the downward sliding of education within the Local Council Development Area. The department has succeeded in identifying indigent students in the Local Council Development Area and successfully recommended about fifteen (15) Students to the Technical University, Ibadan, Oyo State on scholarship, fully paid by the Local Council Development Area Administration.
To complement the efforts of the Security Agencies in combating crime within and around the Local Council Development Area, it harnesses the neighbourhood Security/Community Policing through sustained collaboration and coordination of Local Council Development Area vigilante’s group and the Nigerian Police.
The efforts of the department has led to the reduction in crime rate, particularly, the incidence of armed robbery along the major roads within the Local Council Development Area. The onus of attending to the welfare of youth corps posted to this Local Council Development Area falls within the purview of this department.


 HEALTH CARE SERVICES DEPARTMENT:
The health care department is burdened with high degree of efficiency in health care delivery, preventive and curative. Through its impacts, maternal and child birth mortalityhas reduced drastically while untimely death has ebbed extremely. The activities of the department covers dispensing of branded drugs, dress and delivery of mosquito nets to all the residents of the Local Council Development Area, all these resulted into high patronage of the health centres.
Besides, rendering Ante-natal services, the Health care department participates actively in the routine immunization of children from Age 0 – 49 months and women of child bearing age. In addition, the health care officers usually embark on surveillance activities for polio eradication and certification in the Local Council Development Area.
Apart from screening for eye defects, diabetes, blood pressure, HIV tests, the department also involved actively in State Government programmes like Roll back malaria, routine family planning services and regular campaign for women of child bearing, age on the need to space their Children and proper planning for their familywell-being.

ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH SERVICES:

One adage says; cleanliness is next to godliness,going by thisassertion, this department ensures that the Community is kept neat and tidy all the time. As part of the core mandate, it conducts regular, weekly and monthly environmental exercises, fumigation of Health Centres, and other government officers, proper disposalof refuse, evacuation and clearing of blocked drainages among other things in a bid to have hygienic Community.

WORKS AND HOUSING:

Obviously conscious of the importance of good road networks, construction of bridges, drainages and culverts in and around the Local Council Development Area, oConstruction/Opening of Rural/Feeder roads, grading/maintenance of roads to enhance transportation of farm produce and easy flow of traffic are anchored by the Works and Housing department.
Through the impacts of this department, various Community based projects were executed, such as extension of electricity to new areas; Construction/rehabilitation of School buildings, drilling/repair of motorized and hand pump boreholes across the LCDAfor Public use. Asphaltic tarring/patching of roads were engendered by the Department.

AGRICULTURE AND NATURAL RESOURCES DEPARTMENT:
To enhance the drive to boost agriculture production, the department did not lag behind, no wonder it played a vital role in cultivating and planting of Sixty acres of Cassava at OYSADEP farm land in Iganna.
It is also on record that the department maintains and sustained a cattle ranch housed within the Local Council Development Area premises while regularly provides auxiliary services via veterinary and extension services to farmers and the herders.
Other activities include:
- Distribution of Farm inputs.
- Facilitation of peace resolution between Nomads and Farmers
regularly to preempt friction, foster peaceful co-existence and
cordiality among various ethnic groups.
- Training of farmers on new methods of planting and preservation of harvested farm produce. Immunization of sheep and goats.

BUDGET PLANNING RESEARCH AND STATISTICS:
This is latest department in the Local Government System, ensures proper planning of budget estimates to address all areas of need, prioritize the identified needs and enforce strict compliance within budgetary provisions. Parts of the mandate of the department is to advise, help in allocation of estimates appropriately and monitor the spending of the finances within the budgetary provision.
